What is Viralief Cream used for?
Viralief Cream is used to treat cold sores caused by the herpes simplex virus
How does Viralief Cream work?
If used early enough, Aciclovir (the active ingredient in Viralief) has been shown to stop cold sores developing and speed up the healing of cold sore blisters.
Aciclovir works by slowing down the virus.

How should I use my Viralief Cream?
Viralief Cream should be used as soon as possible after the first symptoms of infection appear – the symptoms are usually a tingling or itching sensation.
Viralief should be used at this tingling stage, or just as the blisters appear
How long should I use Viralief Cream?
The cream ought to be used for 5 days. If the infection has not healed after this time, treatment can be continued for up to 5 more days.
Why do we get cold sores?
Cold sores are caused by the virus herpes simplex virus. Cold sores are spread by direct contact with another person. It is also possible to have the virus and spread the disease without displaying the physical symptoms of a cold sore.
Only a small proportion of the population actually get cold sores from the virus.
Of these, some people get cold sores once a month, others once a year.
